Marie-Claudine Papadopoulos was born in 1987 in Strasburg and began studying the violin at the age of five at the Conservatoire National de Région de Strasbourg. From 2003 until 2011 she studied with Prof. Ulf Hoelscher at the Music Academy in Karlsruhe (1st Prize with Honours). She is presently studying in the soloists’ class of Prof. Roman Nodel at the Music Academy in Mannheim. In March 2011 Marie-Claudine Papadopoulos won first prize at the Competition of the Spring Academy Neustadt an der Weinstrasse followed by a concert engagement with the German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate. At the 2012 violin competition “Tone and Explanation – Work Mediation in Music and Words” of the Cultural Circle of German Business and Industry, Marie- Claudine Papadopoulos won first prize (“Music Prize of the Cultural Circle of German Business and Industry”), which forms the basis of the present CD.
