Discography
The present recording clearly stands out from the many publications during the Liszt Year. It offers little-known music for strings by Franz Liszt that, in its string sound, gives special form to the visionary dimension of the Liszt phenomenon. Two central works of the CD are the great Duo Sonata (1832–35) and the piano trio Carnival in Pest (1847–50) as a special form of the early version of Liszt’s later Ninth Hungarian Rhapsody for piano. An outstanding chamber ensemble led by Ingolf Turban and Wen-Sinn Yang is brought together for the recording.
