The beginning of the 2005/2006 season marks a major change for the Bavarian Radio Choir, which is also celebrating its 60th birthday in this year. Its artistic director of many years, Michael Glaser, will pass on his position to 26-year-old Dutch conductor and singer Peter Dijkstra. Despite his age, Dijkstra has already held concerts and made productions with all important European radio and concert choirs. He achieved his international reputation through his work with the vocal ensemble “The Gents”.
Peter Dijkstra will conduct his first official concert as new BR Choir director on October 15th in Munich. Together with the Bavarian Radio Choir, he now presents on CD a program of sacred works by 20th century French composers Messiaen, Poulenc, Duruflé and De Leeuw.
