Franz Anton Hoffmeister was not only a composer of the Viennese
Classic, but also a music publisher and a friend of Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart, who dedicated one of his most beautiful string
quartets to him, the “Hoffmeister Quartet” KV 499. As a composer
he was highly esteemed by his contemporaries. This CD presents
